Call US Senators McCaskill and Blunt BEFORE TUES 5/24

By:

Official US Senate Seal

LEO was one of 102 groups that quickly signed on to a letter asking Senators to stand up for human health and the environment by STAYING OFF the anti-Subtitle C letter being circulated by Senators Conrad (ND) and Enzi (WY). Both have been trying to hobble the normal EPA process of setting and implementing environmental rules while constituents pay in damages back home.

The Conrad-Enzi letter asks President Obama for weak coal ash protections, but we all know that Subtitle C is the most protective option for human health and the environment because it would require basic, common-sense protections for our communities.

Now, we need you to CALL YOUR SENATORS’ offices and say:

“On behalf of our members and supporters, please ask the Senator to REFRAIN from signing the Conrad-Enzi coal ash letter asking President Obama for weak coal ash protections.”

You can find your US Senators’ phone numbers here.

After you do, please let LEO know which offices you called and how they responded.

  • Are they willing to not sign the letter? TRY TO GET A COMMITMENT
  • Have they been contacted by lots of folks? UPDATE:  YOU MAY GET A RECORDING BECAUSE OF “HIGH VOLUME”…ASK THAT THEY CALL YOU BACK TO LET YOU KNOW THEIR POSITION ON THE LETTER
  • What is the signing deadline? UPDATE:  DEADLINE IS TUES 5/24

Send us an email at contact@leomo.info with this information. We will pass it on to our friends working hard in Washington, DC.

Thanks again for TAKING ACTION to protect our communities! Be part of the solution!
