Take a moment and visit to sign the LEO Save OUR Bottoms Petition which documents broadbased community concern about siting a coal combustion waste landfill in the Labadie Bottoms or current Missouri River floodplain.

Coal ash contains toxic heavy metals that bio-accumulate in environments and migrate with proximity to water.  LEO is asking County officials, DNR, MO Governor Nixon, MO Senators and Representatives to all support us in getting protective regulations that minimize the risk of ground water and soil contamination from coal ash landfilling.  Franklin County is currently looking at writing new zoning regulations that would allow CCW landfills in bottomland property near river water, ground water and drinking wells.

Please add your name to the list of concerned folks.  You can choose to remain anonymous.  We are encouraging folks from the entire Metro St. Louis area to support us because it is a regional issue.  Encourage others to do the same.

Thank you.
